I entered my 50th year of age in 1982. Members of the parish staff, guided by Mary Beth Jones, decided the occasion called for a “Surprise Birthday Party” and invited the whole parish! As the newly hired Family Life Director, I had the great fortune to be immersed in a parish that put family first.  Opportunities to meet families of every age, size, and type were endless—baptism preparation, first Communion celebrations, confirmation sessions, single-again gatherings, marriage retreats, anniversary celebrations, visiting the homebound, funeral planning, and grief support groups.  Collaborating with the Family Life Committee and the Community Development Committee...

Resurrection Catholic Parish 1963-2023 We are Resurrection Catholic Parish;  the living body of Christ.  We are called and challenged  to live a prayer-filled life, heal a broken world, share our timeless stories, and act with a servant’s heart.  We are called to be the love of Jesus; welcoming and loving all God’s people all the time. 60 Years of Memories Spreading the Good News Musically By Michele Becker Lyle and I fondly recall the musicals our parish put on for not only the parishioners, but the wider Green Bay community, beginning in 1998 and continuing to 2014. These parish musicals were “Song of Mark,” “Feast of Life,” “AGAPE,” and “Tales of Wonder,” all by Marty Haugen. There were adult, youth, and children’s choirs, an instrumental combo, lots of backstage help with creating props and anything we asked for. Around 100 people participated in the musicals each time, from ages four to 99. These musicals bonded us closer to Christ, and to one another. The songs...
