Day 22 of 60 Days to 60 Years
Resurrection Catholic Parish
1963-2023
We are Resurrection Catholic Parish;
the living body of Christ.
We are called and challenged
to live a prayer-filled life,
heal a broken world,
share our timeless stories,
and act with a servant’s heart.
We are called to be the love of Jesus;
welcoming and loving all God’s people all the time.
60 Years of Memories
Celebrating Our Hopes and Dreams
By Bishop Robert Morneau
In John’s Gospel, we hear about Jesus’ mission: “I have come that they may have life, and life to the full” (Jn: 10:10). My experience of the faith community of Resurrection Parish is about life, about the graced life of the sacraments and education and social outreach. Parish life is about celebrating together our joys and sorrows, our stewardship and evangelization, our hopes and dreams.
Here at Resurrection, I was introduced to our twin parish in Okolona MS, introduced to Ecumenical Partnership for Housing, introduced to a staff of qualified and dedicated people. My narrow world was greatly expanded.
Here at Resurrection, I experienced a community of gracious hospitality and amazing generosity as so many individuals shared their time and talents and treasure. The Gospel put into action.
Here at Resurrection, I witnessed an Ohio Buckeye fan taunting us Badgers fans. I watched what great care was extended to our elders, via the Hilltoppers and birthday celebrations for those over 90. Two essential things in life: care and be there.For all this a Deo gratias—thanks be to God.
Bishop Robert Morneau was an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay. He served as pastor of Resurrection Parish 2005-2017.
Haikus
Members of the 2023 Resurrection confirmation class and their sponsors wrote haikus as part of their preparations to receive the sacrament.
Oh, Holy Spirit,
guide Rachel in her faith life,
now and forever.
—Karla
Confirm me, oh Lord.
Guide me in my faith journey,
Today and always.
—Rachel
