Day 21 of 60 Days to 60 Years
Resurrection Catholic Parish
1963-2023
We are Resurrection Catholic Parish;
the living body of Christ.
We are called and challenged
to live a prayer-filled life,
heal a broken world,
share our timeless stories,
and act with a servant’s heart.
We are called to be the love of Jesus;
welcoming and loving all God’s people all the time.
60 Years of Memories
Servers and Picnic Chaperones
By Bette Manders
My husband, Norbert (Gabby), and I became friends with Fr. William J. Spalding, Resurrection’s founding pastor. He asked our son, Dan, to help with recruiting Mass servers.
For several years Gabby and I chaperoned the Mass servers and the eighth-grade picnic at Fr. Spalding’s cottage. When we were ready to retire from our chaperone position, but Fr. Spalding asked us to do it just one more year.
The next year, Fr. Spalding left Resurrection Parish and we retired as chaperones.
Bette Manders is a Charter Member of Resurrection Parish.
Haikus
Members of the 2023 Resurrection confirmation class and their sponsors wrote haikus as part of their preparations to receive the sacrament.
Holy Spirit comes
into our hearts when
we choose to strengthen our faith.
—Megan
God calls us to be
strong disciples of the church
through confirmation.
