Day 19 of 60 Days to 60 Years
Resurrection Catholic Parish
1963-2023
We are Resurrection Catholic Parish;
the living body of Christ.
We are called and challenged
to live a prayer-filled life,
heal a broken world,
share our timeless stories,
and act with a servant’s heart.
We are called to be the love of Jesus;
welcoming and loving all God’s people all the time.
60 Years of Memories
Hi, Aunt Marge
By Roger Van Drisse
Marge and I joined the parish in 1965, just when it was beginning. We lived in a neighborhood with the Wilkens, Gigots, Reinharts, Brogans, and Woodwards. We all were members of Resurrection Parish and became very good friends.
There must have been 50 kids in the neighborhood and many of them went to Resurrection School. They grew up together and are still friends today, 60 years later. When our son, Steve, was in school, Marge worked in the school cafeteria.
Many of our nieces and nephews also attended the school. When they came in the lunchroom, they would all say “Hi, Aunt Marge.” One day a little boy (not a relative) was going through the lunch line. He asked my wife, “Are you everyone’s aunt?" I never forgot that story. Marge was kind to all the children.
Roger Van Drisse has been a member of Resurrection Parish since 1965.
