Day 13 of 60 Days to 60 Years
Resurrection Catholic Parish
1963-2023
We are Resurrection Catholic Parish;
the living body of Christ.
We are called and challenged
to live a prayer-filled life,
heal a broken world,
share our timeless stories,
and act with a servant’s heart.
We are called to be the love of Jesus;
welcoming and loving all God’s people all the time.
60 Years of Memories
Coming Up Roses
By Jim Lunney
Dave Haupt came up with the idea of making a rose garden near the southwest entrance to the church.
My wife, Mickey (now deceased), and I donated money for a drip-irrigation system for that plot. I have planted many roses in that space throughout the years with an emphasis on a variety of colors and fragrances. Currently, the spot contains 26 rose plants.
Judy Walter Nelson has done an excellent job on the identifying stones. Kris Fry and her crew work on keeping the outside hedge under control. It has been a cooperative effort!
Jim Lunney has been a member of Resurrection Parish since 1969.
Haikus
Members of the 2023 Resurrection confirmation class and their sponsors wrote haikus as part of their preparations to receive the sacrament.
Help me Lord, please do.
Raise me up to Love and guide.
Help me Love deeply.
—Carol
Help guide me, O Lord.
Guide me with open kindness.
In this world of fear.
—Grant
