Day 12 of 60 Days to 60 Years
Resurrection Catholic Parish
1963-2023
We are Resurrection Catholic Parish;
the living body of Christ.
We are called and challenged
to live a prayer-filled life,
heal a broken world,
share our timeless stories,
and act with a servant’s heart.
We are called to be the love of Jesus;
welcoming and loving all God’s people all the time.
60 Years of Memories
Good Decisions Bring Success
By Jane Stoehr
One highlight was when Roberta Zelhofer, principal of Resurrection School (I was head of our school board at the time) made a decision to have a paraplegic student who had been at Resurrection since first grade reenter after a year in Colorado for physical therapy. Questions and complications were expressed by many. Roberta responded, “We are a Christian school and we will take care of Mark.”
Subsequently he graduated from Res, Abbott Pennings High School, and St. Norbert College with a bachelor’s degree.
Furthermore, Fr. Allouez School has succeeded admirably, in spite of the recent pandemic, with the help of the faculty, parents, and students. Yeh!
Jane and Bruce Stoehr have been members of Resurrection Parish since 1965.
Haikus
Members of the 2023 Resurrection confirmation class and their sponsors wrote haikus as part of their preparations to receive the sacrament.
God is all around.
I feel him with my family.
He loves and protects.
—Mary
Confirmation is…
Showing my faith and God’s love.
In my life always.
—Annabelle
